Mechanical Project Quantity Surveyor
This role and all of our roles outside of Ireland include a full travel package covering flights, accommodation, travel and a daily living allowance reflective of the country you will be based in.
We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Project Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a cutting-edge data centre project in Sweden. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-value, fast-paced project in one of Europe’s most in-demand industries. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control related to the mechanical works, ensuring the project stays on track financially from inception to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting for mechanical packages, including HVAC, cooling systems, and other critical infrastructure.
- Prepare and review bills of quantities, contracts, and tender documents for mechanical scopes of work.
- Oversee financial progress, including valuations, cost reporting, and cash flow management.
- Work closely with subcontractors and suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure value for money.
- Evaluate and manage variations, change orders, and claims to ensure accurate project financials.
- Provide timely and accurate cost reports to the project management team and clients.
- Ensure all mechanical works are compliant with project specifications, health and safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Participate in progress and cost meetings with the project team, clients, and key stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in mechanical works on large-scale projects.
- Previous experience in data centres, mission-critical, or high-tech environments is a plus.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, cooling, and fire protection systems.
- Proficient in cost management tools and software.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to relocate to Sweden for the duration of the project.
