Senior Mechanical Estimator

Due to their ongoing growth and success in the data centre sector, they are seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our team at our Head Office in Ballymount, Dublin.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare reports for management to support bids and monthly reviews
- Create detailed estimates from drawings and project specifications
- Oversee quantity management and develop pricing documentation
- Manage pricing for building elements, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers across Ireland and Europe
- Use spreadsheets to analyse subcontractor bids and justify selection decisions
- Assist in maintaining the cost database for project management
- Present estimates to the Estimating Director and, when required, to the Board of Directors
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments
- Contribute to developing procedures to maintain high-quality control standards in estimating documentation
- Collaborate with the CSA and Electrical Estimating teams
- Mentor and train junior team members
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance and safety standards
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a mechanical estimating or quantity surveying role
- Background in estimating or quantity surveying
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and at least one widely used QS BQ software (e.g., Buildsoft or CostX)
- Strong understanding of producing high-quality subcontractor tender documentation and submissions
- Ability to identify project risks and adhere to safety standards
